Configuring Scan to Folder

Creating a New Folder

  • Find the folder you wish to scan to on the network (\\[SERVER]\[FOLDER]) and copy this folder path

  • Open the Canon Interface from your web browser - this can be found by entering the IP address of the device

  • When prompted with a login page, enter 4877 in both of the boxes

  • When logged in, go to ‘Address Book’ and select one from the list.

    • Ensure that this is not a "User Group Address List"

  • In here, select ‘Register New Destination’

  • Change the Type to ‘File as shown below and then press ‘Set’

  • Enter the folder name and destination into the correct fields as shown below. Note: the hostname is only \\[SERVER] – this will be the same for all destinations

  • Enter the username and password you got from Simon (or the new password if you had to change this) and press ‘OK’ at the top right

  • Test the destination works and the scan reach the folder. If this works, repeat the same process for the rest of the destinations

Updating a Destination's Password
  1. Follow instructions up to getting to the relevant address list and select the destination which you want to update the password for
  2. At the top right, click edit and then click ‘Settings’ which will take you to the page with Username and Password. Note: You will need to tick the ‘Change Password’ box in order to update the password.
